We are very proud to present this special commissioned Bespoke #009 ‘Classic Style’ Ultimate Helmet Bag adding to our Racing Colours Collection a new piece of #LeatherArt in collaboration with Darren Turner – Development driver for Aston Martin Lagonda – Le Mans, Daytona, Sebring and Petit Le Mans winner with Aston Martin Racing Official.

It’s been great fun and so rewarding to go into all the detail that Darren specified and see the final creation.

QUILTED BESPOKE LINING

The chosen historic lining pays tribute to Aston Martin Le Mans wins. One panel is devoted to car #19 DB2 prototype, Chassis LML/50/8 was driven at Le Mans by George Abecassis and Lance Macklin. Grid slots were decided on engine size and they started 19th. At an average speed of 87.25mph, Abecassis and Macklin finished fifth overall to claim victory in the three-litre Sports category. They also shared the Index of Performance prize.

The other panel is focussed on the Aston MartinDBR1/2 Victorious – 24hr Le Mans 1959 outright win, driven by Roy Salvadori & Carroll Shelby – Aston Martin’s most famous victory to date, that same year at the Goodwood Aston Martin clinched the World Sportscar Championship – double celebrations for our iconic British Motor Racing Brands.

Our luxurious quilted interior adds protection, finished in Green – Italian man-made durable suede material – very similar to Alcantara but a lighter weight.

We use Flow-Vis colour (taken from the DBR9 paint scheme) original automotive seat belt webbing for the Handles and adjustable detachable padded nonslip Shoulder Strap.

In recognition of the time when car numbers changed from race to race, customers can choose to have their Helmet Bag customised with a number of their choice. An owner may choose a significant number to them, such as a birthday, or perhaps to depict the number displayed on their own racing car.
